The Latest News from Hexagon EMEA Resellers

Last month we attended the Hexagon EMEA Reseller Meeting in Mallorca - it has been a couple of years since we’ve actually been able to meet in person and so it was a great opportunity to catch up with both the Hexagon team and Resellers from across the region.

The event started with a series of updates from the Hexagon senior team, covering new developments and giving us a sneak peek into some of the new technology that will appear in the product releases scheduled for the coming months. We will cover these in more detail later in the year. But as a taster, there are some major enhancements coming to GeoMedia and ERDAS IMAGINE, exciting new operators being added to Spatial Modeler and major upgrades to APOLLO as it transforms to a LuciadFusion-based foundation. These will all be part of the new version of the product portfolio due for release this summer.

Release of M.App Enterprise v 17.0 is due in the in autumn – this will include enhancements to the MAE Studio design, redesign of the dashboard configuration to simplify the user experience and added functionality too. M.App Enterprise is now well established as a cloud-based platform and it was fascinating to hear how it is being deployed across the globe for a broad mix of applications and services. Several of the services developed within the EMEA region were showcased at the event, including Geospatial Insight’s own LOCATE platform.

Recently launched, LOCATE delivers services that accelerate the decarbonisation process for government and business, offering an easy-to-use visualisation and analytical tool for data integration, service delivery planning and deployment support.

LOCATE EV brings together critical datasets and intuitive functionality to facilitate Electrical Vehicle (EV) chargepoint network planning across complex urban areas.  By digitalising the most manually intensive elements of the site survey and verification process, LOCATE EV enables EV infrastructure stakeholders to accelerate and simplify the roll-out process, dramatically reducing costs too.

LOCATE SOLAR delivers the UK’s first National Rooftop Solar Suitability Database, providing 20+ unique solar-centric attributes for more than 23 million buildings across the UK. The platform is already being used by some of the solar industry’s leading stakeholders, local authorities and housing associations to plan clean energy generation and decarbonisation strategies.

Ing Plus AG, based in Germany are specialists in digital infrastructure, their key M.App Enterprise service is designed to optimise infrastructure management through the automation and streamlining of processes. Their intuitive platform provides an overview of on- and under- roads, allowing ease of access to where, and what, remediation is needed across both road and sewer networks. By collating road and sewer condition data municipal utilities and engineering offices can use a single, common planning tool and remediation work can be quickly identified allowing engineers to proactively carry out maintenance where it is most needed, rather than reacting when a problem emerges, a key change which mitigates damage and reduces remediation costs.

The effective management of green infrastructure is considered one of the most efficient approaches to addressing urban societal challenges. Cities worldwide face various environmental challenges, including air pollution and climate changes, which are often exacerbated by unsustainable urban development. Planetek Italia has used M.App Enterprise to develop Sispi Palermo to provide continuous monitoring of vegetation health conditions across the Municipality of Palermo. The application optimises Opensource Copernicus Sentinel-2 data and the Spatial Modeler capability within M.App Enterprise.

There will more announcements on new Hexagon technology and emerging services at HxGN LIVE Global 2023.  Being held in Las Vegas between 12-15 June 2023, this is the flagship event of the HxGN LIVE series and gives the opportunity to explore Hexagon’s latest sensor, software and autonomous technologies. Definitely an event to consider if you are interested in the latest innovative technology.
